At least two people have gotten the alpha code so far. We're not sure exactly what that means in terms of gameplay, since, so far, no authors from this blog have been lucky enough to get a code. However, I would like to analyze the LEGO Universe Deceleration of Secrecy and present this blog's policy on it.Now, ultimately, the declaration's goal is to keep secrets from being released to the general public. Some people may view this as referring only to written documents or pictures, but, because of our unending respect for LEGO, we are taking it a step further. We at the MLN Blog stand that, under the declaration of secrecy, all specific parts of gameplay can not be released. What this means is basically that if LEGO Universe is using a certain type of avatar making thing, you aren't allowed to tell us what it is. If they're using Star Wars body parts, maybe (and remember, these are just random examples), you're not allowed to tell us about them.
What can you tell us? Well, if you view the declaration, you'll notice that they are referring to information given/shown to you by them. This does not include statements made by you which do not include any information you have been provided. So, to use the examples above, if you say "their avatar making thing is really cool", we will probably publish that. Or "they have really cool body parts for your avatar", we would accept that. We might allow comments talking about what you're doing as a tester (as long it doesn't include any information about testing). So "I'm giving feedback on pictures" would be OK, but "I'm giving feedback about the awesome new fill-in-the-blank" would not. Also, we will approve comments saying you got the code.
Now to this blog's wonderful authors. None of you, under any conditions, is allowed to publish a post about the beta/alpha test without my permission. If you do, I shall seriously consider revoking your authorship privledges. This doesn't mean you can't make a post about the beta test. You still can. But instead of publishing you, you must press "save now" and then comment on my market (where I get comments emailed to me) saying you want me to review your post. If I decide it's OK, I'll publish it (under your name). If I decide it's not OK, I will delete it and then tell you why, but I won't ban you or anything.

To all who got an activation code: What time did you get it? (make sure you state which time zone you're referring to). We want to know if they're releasing them slowly, or just in a wave.
Isn't it this time?
1400 CET and Midnight CET on Tuesdays and Thursdays
I think the beta test is for Lego Kids inner circle members only.
So here's the scoop on the code, my bother got an e-mail at 12/8/2009 6:32 AM EST. It said

See you in LEGO Universe!
Best regards, The LEGO Universe Team
Okay, so he made an account, had my mom accept the secrecy thing, downloaded LU, and well, lets just say yeah, tested it.
It is called alpha testing because alpha comes before beta and basically means testing limited to employees, but this must be a kind of broad alpha.
Okay, so why did he get one? Because there is this thing called Kid's Inner Circle (KIC) that LEGO has and I heard of it. Apparently you have to be invited to get in, but I found a place where a parent can invite thier kids and so my mom invited my brother, he had to do some long serveys, and IT WAS ONLY FOR KIDS 13 OR YOUNGER, so I didn't do it, only my brother. On it there is some cool stuff, like interviews with LEGO Universe master and stuff, even an exclusive VIP code. Well I we basically forgot until now.
I went and looked now, and now you don't have to do the complicated stuff or be 13 or under, so I joined, but no key... I think you had to be in it at the time. I joined anyway, and I would recommend you do, just in case, and if you have any younger siblings, have them join just in case it looks at the age you entered when you signed up for a LEGO ID. Go here: https://club.lego.com/eng/login/KidsPanel/
After you are in, click update profile and update e-mail, because I think that might be necessary. But like I said earlier, this will probably might not give you a key, but they just might consider re-giving them.
Oh yeah, the key would not work on my account because it is linked to the e-mail used to sign up with.
I also tried copying the urls seen with his account and tried going to them on mine, no luck.
Wow, thanks for the info, Bugefun. If you want, you can copy that comment and make a post out of it.
A bit off topic but there's going to be a thing on bionicle.com called mata nui saga.

I have been a loyal Lego Club member for 9 years, I have probably bought HUNDREDS of Legos in my lifetime, I have been a member of Kids Inner Circle for a full year.... and they refused to let me into the Lego Universe Alpha Test because I'm 14.
I know how you feel, Herochild *smiles sadly*
Herochild, Did they kick you out of it? Can you still get into it? I know some people who got a code and their LEGO account says older than 13 and somehow they got one. I don't know how.
I received one! I don't know the time (sometime after 12 (Pacific))
Have fun at the game... You are one of the guys who could play it...
Can't someone who got the code just tell us?
Nope...
Because each code is different. There is not one code that works for everyone. And when they send a code, that code will only work with an account that is signed up with the email that the code was sent to.
aaarrrggghhh!!!!! I got into Lego Kids Inner Circle, but I haven't gotten my e-mail for the alpha testing yet! so... Help? Advice?
P.S. it has been 2 to 3 weeks.
You had to be in KIC before Dec. 7.
