Attachment !!! + Rank 11?

| Jul 17, 2010
The stories around this networker keep going, some users says it is the work of a hacker and some users says it is an unfinished networker. Somebody on the LMB's asked a sheriff why we cannot see the page of attachment. That answer has now been answered by a sheriff (an official of LEGO). Let us take a look at the answer of Miakittymoon.

Mods and officials, I would like to ask this one question. Why can't we see Attachment's page?

I don't know, seriously. I think it was an idea for a networker (and a new rank) but everything got delayed (or the idea wasn't good enough Stick out tongue).

Now, she actually doesn't know it for sure, but they all say that. Should we believe this or not? Share your opinion(s) here!

For the users that don't know the history of this story, we have made a lot of posts already with theories, take a look at them and share your opinion(s) here!

I seriously believe her (MKM)!

The mods on the Message-Boards aren't allowed to give away any secrets of LEGO or LEGO.com DIRECTLY (thus the "I think")... but then, they aren't allowed to lie either, so that sacks that possibility!

When I saw this, I was sure it proved my 'Creator Rank' theory... But why aren't Jamie and Simon down? LEGO could easily remove them from our friends lists...

@Arin3

I also believe here, but I'm not 100% sure. I also asked her some time ago in the same topic if there was soemthing coming in MLN and she told us that the development of MLN was almost done and that they wouldn't release that much anymore. But that doesn't take away, we need to put the idea out of our head of Rank 11 and / or attachment.

The mods did many times already, so why also not this time?

Maybe they forgot about it, again in the comment MKM made was nothing told about Simon and Jamie or is the development almost done for those networkers, which could be not for attachment.

As I can probably think, a lot of people still have Attachment on their pending friendlist. If Rank 11 would be released (if it would be released, not sure, it's still a rumor.), probably all thousand of users would be removed. Yes, LEGO can remove them easily.

In my opinion, more ranks are coming. That's just a fact. The problem is that LEGO's game developers are very busy people, so their ability to get side tracked when something doesn't work very well is obvious (and understandable).

I think this sort of destroys the hacker theory, though...

Sim533 said... [REPLY]

@Vanderdecken12

Yeah, you are sorta right, only it hasn't been verified, there would be extra new ranks and/or attachment would be an upcoming networker!

You are right on the fact that they are busy, MKM told us that they had a lot of work to do on the other storylines as well, and don't forgot LU, they are working on this very hard!

I don't know if this would destroy the hacker theory, we have proved in one of our previous posts that it could be a hacker. MKM didn't verified that what she said was true, which means it can be a lie. But if we follow the comment of Arin3 and believe that mods would never lie, then we couldn't actually know what is true and what is false. So, both ways are still open in my opinion.

I highly doubt that Attachment, or any other Networkers, are the work of hackers. If somebody was able to get into MLN's servers in that way, it would not be that difficult for them to get into any part of LEGO.com. If LEGO knew that somebody was able to manipulate their site, which is accessed by thousands of children every day, they would probably say something about it or stop it quickly. This subject poses a huge child safety risk, which is a risk I don't think LEGO would be taking. I don't think any of that stuff was done by unauthorized people.

Vanderdecken12 said... [REPLY]

@Sim533 Actually, the information section says there will be more ranks.

@LEGOVerse Excellent point. I had never thought of it that way but it makes perfect sense.

For these "occasional posts devoted to newsworthy creations made by LEGO fans like us", where would these creations be obtained from, and what would make them considered "newsworthy"?

@Vanderdecken12 Thanks!

LEGOVerse said... [REPLY]

Correction to my previous comment: LEGO.com actually gets millions (about 1,601,596 unique) of visitors a day. Sorry for the double post.

Vanderdecken12 said... [REPLY]

@LEGOVerse
These would come from creations on the LEGO website plus possibly some on other LEGO sites if a truly outstanding and all-otherwise amazing creation is found there. The criterion for considering what is newsworthy would be up to the discretion of the person in charge of making the post, but would generally be creations that best display the creator's love for LEGO.

BTW, I found something reffering to THE QUEST FOR RD-D2 in the MLN XML:

subject="SW game 09: Jedi collection 5a" hidden="True" text="SW game 09: Jedi collection 5a

Sim533 said... [REPLY]

@Arin3
Those are already a long time in the XML, it is unknown for what they are and if they every gonna be released! ;)

Hmm... It seems that I cannot comment unless I go to reply to another comment?

I find this all rather interesting. I think LEGO will make new Ranks, but I also think that LU will quickly replace MLN.

@ Vanderdecken12: long time no see! How have you been?

Sim533 said... [REPLY]

@crackers5

The comment box is under all the comments, if you missed that.

IDK, how would it take it over if LU is so expensive, not many users are buying it because it costs too much.

tombomdoodle said... [REPLY]

I don't believe it to be the work of hackers, if you could hack into MLN, I don't think you'd make some new networkers, you'd get loads of bricks and cool modules for yourself, wouldn't you? :P And when they say new rank, could it have been a mini-rank in fact?

Sim533 said... [REPLY]

Hmm, if it was a hacker, then it would just be to show that you can hack. Not to get tons of modules and bricks.

If we are talking about mini-rank, why would MKM didn't say 'mini-rank' instead of 'rank'. There are also a lot of rumors.

I still need to check some other topics regarding Rank 11 and maybe I can find some extra things out of those topics!

tombomdoodle said... [REPLY]

Suppose. But as I'm not a hacker, I wouldn't know. :D

Although unlikely, perhaps it was a typo? I have heard them talk about new ranks before and it comes out with a mini-rank.

One thing I found ages ago, which started quite a lot of discussion at the LMBs, was the fact that Rank 10 members appear next to Rank 0 members, perhaps pointing out a new series of ranks beginning again.

Sim533 said... [REPLY]

The thing about the Rank 10 member next to the Rank 0 members are actually because the sorting system is based on the first number and the one that come after that, it's just a sort of glitch.

Vanderdecken12 said... [REPLY]

@Tombomdoodle LOL *winkwink* you sounded very suspicious when you said that comment...hmmm (jk)

@Crackers5 I've been very well. Just extremely busy with finishing up high school. :O

Wooton said... [REPLY]

@Sim533I think people have been able to hack MLN at least a little. there was that whole thing where people got the Echo avatar (I was friends with one)

LEGOVerse said... [REPLY]

@Wooton

The Echo avatar thing was at a user level (as in they were editing things available to individual users). I believe that was the exploiting of a isolated glitch, not "hacking". Again, if it was something that could potentially put children at risk, it would be publicized or stopped.

tombomdoodle said... [REPLY]

@Vanderdecken12

Haha ;)

@Sim533
Ah, I see.

Arin3 said... [REPLY]

Has anybody noticed the LU badge is missing from the badge directory?

Vanderdecken12 said... [REPLY]

@Arin3
That's strange.

Owen Carter said... [REPLY]

There are plenty of badges not in the directory.
