While browsing the lego.com site today, I came across a survey. I tried it, because I wanted to see what questions they were asking. one question intrigued me:
"Previously LEGO.com survey respondents have told us they want more games on the LEGO.com site."

What would you like to see in the games featured on the LEGO.com site?

  • A LEGO online game which is a war and you can choose to be on the evil side or good side. You can use LEGO money to buy guns, cars, tanks,,helicopters, airplanes, and soldiers. You could make your own character. And it is online multiplayer game.
  • A BIONICLE game where you get to choose ANY BIONICLE character and get upgrades and powers depending on the terrain and characters (sort of like the old Voya Nui games.)
  • I think Legos are one of the best toys every and wish there can be more sets in all products. =)
  • Get a product for free that you want and is on your wish list once every 6 months.
  • An online lego game that when you earn 100 coins you get ten dollars off any lego set you choose.
  • A game that you can win lego sets.
  • A BIONICLE game where you start as a Matoran of an element of your choice and fight Rahi, Makuta, and get more armor and become a Toa. Each Matoran type would have their own special abilities (Ta-Matoran get extra power on fire levels, etc.)
  • Please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, please, bring back ALL old Star Wars, Batman, and Harry Potter LEGO sets and a lot of other old LEGO sets and bring out some new series like James Bond and things like that.
  • Make a game where you can win free Lego products.
  • I want a game were we couid go to diffierent lego worlds like lego indiana jones then you could build and battle in different lego adventures.

Notice some spelling errors, which indicate these probably were sent in by customers. These could easily become new games or features! The first choice is interesting, because lego generally exclude all military related lego, except in the case of licensed lines, such as star wars and indiana jones. What do you think?
On a slightly different note... I'll bet lego would be very popular if they made a line based around world war two. of course, that may provoke some people who were involved in the war...
edit: okay, for some reason, this is flipping out a bit. checkboxes are appearing where they shouldn't be, fonts are messed up... but anyway, you can still hopefully understand the above.

The Voucher idea, Win a Lego Set idea and Win Free Lego Sets idea are really good ideas. They could give out a small Special edition set once in a while or have the game where once every month someone is given a set of there choice under £20.00 or something like that.

I like the idea of the Lego War Game however i dont like the idea of Lego guns in the game. The media already shows bad opinions towards lego for making small Lego guns. What will they think about the guns in a lego game online especially if you are killing them.

Perfect idea:
A Lego world. You choose where you want to go in the world at the start and you start off as a brick.

First Level/Series:
You start off as a small brick piece who slides along in a 2D game kind of like Pac Man. After a while you find the rest of your body and go onto the next Level.

Second Level/Series:
Your charecter is travelling around collecting items and delivering them to other lego people kind of like the MLN Game "Delivery" after a while you get a message and need to go to a Laboratory. You have now reached level three.

Third Level/Series:
After giving the letter to a scientist you enter the 3D Gameplay and are transported to a different universe where all the Lego themes are in one world. You have to travel around attacking and defeating Rock Monsters, Aliens, Bad Guys and other people. In each level you gain a new charecter skin (E.g. In a castle level you get a knight costume, In indiana jones level you get whip and hat and so on . . .) After you have defeated all the levels you pass onto level 4.

Fourth Level/Series:
You eventually return to you old world and become 2D again. This time however you have unlocked several Player VS Computer games including, Checkers, Stack em up and Battleships. All the games are 3D except. The games are optional however you eventually get another letter and need to deliver it to the Scientist again. Welcome to Level 5 the final level.

Fifth Level/Series:
Now in level 5 you are in 3D and gain acsess to a Space ship for all your hard work collecting items and delivering letters. A 3D Rocket game becomes available with optional Good or Bad choice. The Space Ship can take you to any prior level along with a new level which is sort of like Sim`s. You control and manipulate your lego person and help him to survive by working (Brick Harvesting) and even finding add ons for him such as different clothes or tools. The game changes depending on your attitude towards other Computer Controlled Players. Some other Players charecters may appear in your game however they can not be hurt however simple interaction is available.

Sorry for the huge brainstorm of ideas.

Oh, Delta, I have to add something to our rules. Do NOT post ANY codes. That is for Sim and me to do ONLY. Even if you think it is OK, wait for us. Got that?

sorry, i was away for the past three days. thanks for the edit, sim. i didn't have time to do it.
nope, i won't post any codes. i'm essentially the theoriser and the person finding out little things that lego might implement in the future...

scorpio, remember that there are quite a few fans of lego who are adults, and also fans who make lego guns. all lego needs to do, if it starts a war line or something, is not to make it attractive to little kids (which will be undoubtedly hard). most lines have swords and guns, so i wouldn't mind if they made a war line. the same goes for the game, if they decide to make one.
of course, if you look at lego star wars, that's fairly popular, and it's based around a medium-violent series. kids like it, and they might even like it because of the guns. the main problem for TLC is not to "corrupt" children and make them think war is a cool thing.
of course, i'm interested in war, and i wouldn't mind if they made scaled tanks, life-sized guns, and the like. just my opinions. also, if there is a game, it wouldn't be that violent. the lego games all feature minifigs being amputated on death, and no-one's really complaining...
