LEGO UNIVERSE BETA PERIOD STARTED!

| Nov 25, 2009

The lego Universe Beta Testing Period has started. Create a account (take the same name as off MLN) on https://universe.lumini.lego.com/en-us/Account/Create.aspx. First, you need to create a new account. Activate your account. Then you need to accept next doc.

Declaration of Secrecy
I, the undersigned, hereby acknowledges towards LEGO System A/S that all pieces of information, whether submitted orally or in writing, documents, drawings and any other kind of material (hereinafter referred to as "Information") which I receive during test of LEGO Universe, until launch of game, shall be treated strictly confidentially, and that all such Information shall always be kept in a satisfactory way and shall not in any circumstances be revealed to any third party.

Furthermore, the undersigned declares that all such Information shall only be used in connection with the co-operation with LEGO System A/S and shall in no circumstances be copied or reproduced in any way without the prior written consent of LEGO System A/S.

The undersigned hereby furthermore declares that I will never use the Information as mentioned above for any commercial purposes.

The undersigned accepts that all such Information remains the property of LEGO System A/S and therefore, at LEGO System A/S option, either has to be returned to LEGO System A/S after the termination of the co-operation or has to be destroyed.

Your next task is to enter the "activation key" from an invitational email. This, you will receive later, so be patient! :)

UPDATE: It looks like the beta period is only open for LEGO EMPLOYEES who probably received the activation key already. But make an account, maybe they change it later to public test.

You have to be 18... I'm almost there

Fallen Soldier said... [REPLY]

I'm 15 so quite close.

Sim533 said... [REPLY]

I just signed up.

Vanderdecken12 said... [REPLY]

No, Berrykit, you just need a parent to sign it. I'm confused by the "activation code", though...

Sim533 said... [REPLY]

I'm just thinking if it would be good to do this...

Sim533 said... [REPLY]

It looks like we must receive an invitation email...

CheshireCat150 said... [REPLY]

I'm signed up. Just waiting for them to send me the activation key...

Sim533 said... [REPLY]

Berrykit said... [REPLY]

Oh, good. I got that, But I signed up with my name XD

The activation code makes sense, but I bet they won't send it out until they're completely ready to have beta testers, like in a week. Or maybe they're going through all the signups.

B-man8397 said... [REPLY]

I'm waiting for my activation letter right now. At least I can read the new LEGO Club email while I wait.

Sim533 said... [REPLY]

That will be a long read. It probably does not come today, maybe even not tommorow.

Oh, and i don't make a new post for this because we have already 2 posts today...

micah82 said... [REPLY]

I just signed up. Now i am waiting for the activation code.

Sim533 said... [REPLY]

Hopefully it comes...

B-man8397 said... [REPLY]

I got the activation letter. But I was supposed to get an activation key with it. Now I can't enter LU because it needs an activation code.

Vanderdecken12 said... [REPLY]

Yes, B-man, that is normal. There will be a separate "invitational" email later.

Sim533 said... [REPLY]

You don't received a invitation key?
Me either, and i don't know if I would receive it... Hopefully we get it.

Vanderdecken12 said... [REPLY]

Berrykit, that is an interesting theory. I was thinking of it as well. It's quite possible they want to pick and choose through all the entries (possibly for inappropriate names as one thing?). I suppose we'll just have to wait and see...

Sim533 said... [REPLY]

I got a idea. Maybe we could guess a code? Let's try...

B-man8397 said... [REPLY]

Vanderdecken: Oh, I get it now.

Sim: Good luck with that. I even tried looking at the URL of the activation link for an idea but...

KentoBento411 said... [REPLY]

I don't get it... I signed up, but I can't go on without an activation e-mail? I was so excited. If you quit out of the LU page where you have to put the activation code, do you have to do all that processing over?

Vanderdecken12 said... [REPLY]

no, you just have to go back to the link on this blog. I have already tried it. :-)

Buge said... [REPLY]

On the declaration of secrecy, it says to have an adult fill out the form. So you can have your parent do that part. Yay!

Also, the secrecy won't let us post about the game on the blog.

Most beta testing is like this, only certain people are accepted and they can't tell anyone about it.

Buge said... [REPLY]

How did you find that link?

Unknown said... [REPLY]

The lego club email is out

Vanderdecken12 said... [REPLY]

Thanks, Andrew, but I think Sim mentioned that.

Bugefun raises a very good point, everybody. Nothing about the LEGO Universe Beta Testing can be posted about here. Of course, if you become a beta tester, feel free to let us know, but absolutely nothing you post after that will be allowed, since we all want to obey the Declaration of Secrecy.

Spider880 said... [REPLY]

I think I'll just wait until it's officialy released to everyone. I can't wait to try it out though!

DOOM

and darkness will fall across Lego city...

Sim533 said... [REPLY]

Hi explorer,

Thank you for your interest in testing LEGO Universe.

The game is currently in the ‘Friends & Family’ test phase. All invitations to play at this stage have been sent out.

You will have a chance to test in the future, please check http://universe.lego.com/en-us/default.aspx for updates.

Thanks again for your interest,

LEGO Universe Support Team

This is the email that i get today, from the team...

Shark said... [REPLY]

New LEGO Monuments reviews on LU.

Shark said... [REPLY]

Sweet new background, BTW

Buge said... [REPLY]

How did you get that? Did they automatically send it to you, or did you send something to their customer service?

Sim533 said... [REPLY]

They answer on a question i sended.

EragonSaphira said... [REPLY]

Hey, this isn't related to this LU post but it is news. A 1st grader from Maine sent an email to LEGO about his idea about how to use the bricks and LEGO responded! They got him to sign secrecy documents and stuff! I wonder what his idea was? Here is a link any way, the kids name is Quaid Guarino so if you Google that you will find a bit of information.

Maybe it was LEGO games.
But wait, that happened in June and I found a post about LEGO games from February.

Anonymous said... [REPLY]

i just had a thought.
since most of us signed the declaration of secrecy, that practically means nothing about the game can be posted. at the bottom of this post, it says lots of clicks will be rewarded for information. isn't that sort of void, in this instance?

what you probably mean is updates on when people can actually test it. i don't have any information on that, but...
sim, does this actually mean anyone without that email can't beta test at this stage? that's unfortunate.

Sim533 said... [REPLY]

To be correct, I've you not have a email by now then you couldn't test it in this stage. We can send emails to the technical support of Universe to ask if we could test it by now. Just to ask and ask...

Pff, I think we may post it here, we actually don't post anything of the game pictures...

Anonymous said... [REPLY]

actually, sim, i think you generally can't post anything about gameplay at all...
remember, it's supposed to be a secret to the general public...

Buge said... [REPLY]

I'm pretty sure that it means that we can't post anything about the game that we learn in beta testing. The would not include how we got into beta testing, because we didn't learn that while testing the game. It would include any details of the game, such as names, how the controls work, how leveling works, screenshots, videos, secrets, levels, ect. If we learned this somewhere else though, like some other webpage, we could say the information we learned at the other places.

Anonymous said... [REPLY]

yeah, that just about sums up my thoughts.
although there might be leaked/unauthorised content elsewhere that could violate the declaration of secrecy, so i wouldn't really recommend posting everything you find elsewhere.

Unknown said... [REPLY]

For some reason, I dont trust this sign up.
I mean, they ask for your adress, zip code, they make you have to make a COMPLETELY new lego i.d. and the website URL isnt the same as the original Lego Universe website.
Sounds like a scam to me. Who knows, maybe you will be stalked tonight. i however have not filled out the form yet....

How did you even find the sign up page? If you found it by typing in the URL or on google I wouldn't trust it. If they dont give a link from the LU website, im pretty sure its fake.

Samuel9544 said... [REPLY]

new challenge in creation lab!

Sim533 said... [REPLY]

@Austin.

You may trust the site for 100%. Even if you don't want to fill in the adress, zip, and many more. Just put a 0 or a - in that textbox. Maybe later they let the people test that maked an account there. So, sign up for the fun...

@Samuel.

That's good news, but we are not going to make a new topic for this... But for reporting news, you get 20 clicks from me. I will add them directly to the blog points. You could redeem your clicks by asking here what we must clicks on or go to the market and buy something on Vanderdecken12 shop, CC150 shop and don't forget to say that you would use your points.

Good Luck

Sim533 said... [REPLY]

@ skeletonman939. That button is still online. You could find it at the bottom.

Unknown said... [REPLY]

SIm: Thanks for telling me I could do that :P I put STALKA in every box except full name where I only put "Austin" and no last name. I just hope they still let me in when I lied in about every box except country....

Sim533 said... [REPLY]

Np :)

Buge said... [REPLY]

It is a good point to be suspicious about making a new account. There are many phishing sites, and this means they try to imitate the real site and have you log in on the imitation site, thus giving away your user name and password. When you mentioned that, it startled me at how little care I gave it. But I made sure that the ending url is LEGO.com, the other parts are subdomains, so it is owned by LEGO, and is safe.

Also, what button? On the bottom of where?

Sim533 said... [REPLY]

Hey I know this post is about the lego universe. But there's a new indiana jones lego game the adventure continues (not actually on the computer on the game consoles).

Anonymous said... [REPLY]

interesting, there's a "top commenters" thing on the side...
to be honest, i never thought if it was a phishing or scamming website. it's too late now, i guess.

austin, i don't know if that'd actually work. maybe when they go through beta testing and checked everyone who signed up, they might get suspicious at the lack of information. they may assume you're a scammer, or something. just a thought. personally, though, i put in all the information.

Sim533 said... [REPLY]

Link to a page about it?

B-man8397 said... [REPLY]

Operate: I already knew about the new indiana jones game. I also know of lego rock band and the new lego harry potter game coming out next year.

Sim: This is the official website of lego indiana jones 2: http://www.lucasarts.com/games/legoindianajones2/

Sim533 said... [REPLY]

OK. thanks. I will check it out...

Anyone catch what DOOM was for? ;)

Sim533 said... [REPLY]

No, i didn't test it out. Anyone else did play the Chronicles Game?

Unknown said... [REPLY]

It makes the mist constant and it makes dark splotches all over. It doesn't do any thing to the cars and airplanes though.

Sim533 said... [REPLY]

Oh, cool. I'll try it soon...
