Rebrick the new social site of LEGO has been up. http://rebrick.lego.com/

This was the site who had the name Octopus in an earlier stage! You have to be 13 to sign up.

About Rebrick;

Share your favorite creations with the LEGO® brick and inspire other people.
All you have to do to get started is to find an image, video, blog post, article or whatever format your favorite piece of content is on the world wide web and submit the link to ReBrick.

WHAT IS THE BASIC IDEA WITH REBRICK?
ReBrick is a social media platform where adult users can share and discuss user-created LEGO content online.
It will not be possible to upload content to the site. Instead the basic functionality is for the user to bookmark content from other sites, such as Flickr, Youtube, MOCpages and similar sites, and have a discussion at the ReBrick hub.
ReBrick is a public stage for fans of the LEGO brick to share their wonderful models and creations with the general public.
IS REBRICK PART OF LEGO.COM?
The ReBrick website is made and facilitated by the LEGO Group. But ReBrick is not part of LEGO.com. While LEGO.com is for children (of all ages), ReBrick caters to fans over 13. There’s no commercial agenda. The site will never be used to market LEGO products so you won’t see campaigns, adverts or advertorials.

IT’S YOUR REBRICK!
The ReBrick project is a collaboration between the LEGO Group and the LEGO community. In fact, we could almost say it’s co-owned. Though The LEGO group retain ownership of the site, there will be no product announcements or any attempt made to market LEGO products. The content is brought in, discussed and ultimately owned by the community – that’s you!

LEGO Universe Closing

It was announced earlier today that LEGO Universe will be closing January 31st 2012. The LEGO moderator, Keighlian, posted this on the message boards:

Hello Adventurer, today we are very sad to announce that LEGO Universe will be closing on Janurary 31, 2012. This was a very difficult decision to make, but unfortunately LEGO Universe has not been able to attract the number of members needed to keep the game open.

We are thankful to have had the opportunity to share this adventure wiith an amazing community of players. We hope you will continue to enjoy LEGO Universe for the last few months. As a thank you, if you are a paying subscriber on December 31, 2011, we will provide you the full game for the final month for free.

Again, we want to thank the fantastic community of players who made LEGO Universe such a vibrant, fun and creative experience.

It is unknown how this will effect updates already scheduled to be released. It can be safely assumed that Frostburgh and most likely the Fire Temple will be released. However I doubt that any content after that will be released.

What is LEGO CUUSOO? Well, I'm here to answer that question! CUUSOO (which is Japanese for 'imagination' or sometimes 'wish') is a new site now in open beta. Here users can upload their own creations to be voted on by the community, models with over 10,000 votes may be launched into production by the LEGO Company! If your model is selected for production you will receive 1% of the net profit (the amount the LEGO Company gets after subtracting the costs to make and sell the model)
So head on over to the site but first a few words of warning:

Currently I am unable to find an age limit to register for the site, however, the LEGO CUUSOO site does not appear to be as restrictive as the main LEGO website and you can share much more data there than anywhere else. Remember to always get your parent's permission before sharing any personal information online! Also, since it is possible to earn money from your models, Plagiarism (copying someone else's model) is strictly prohibited, so, once again, check with your parents before registering or uploading models and make sure it's okay with them.

Life of George

LEGO has been working on a new project for awhile now. They have been hinting about it on this Facebook page for a few months, but no one knew what it was. The Facebook page had posts from the perspective of a LEGO 'man' called George and photos of him in places all around the world.
Earlier this week, the official Life of George LEGO page went live. The webpage explains a bit more about George and what this new LEGO product is.
Life of George "uses an awesome LEGO Brick capture technology that turns your iPhone/iPod into a revolutionizing new experience, giving you hours of building fun with endless possibilities"
To play, you must buy the set, which comes with a bunch of basic bricks and a special photo board and download the iPod Touch/iPhone app. The app gives you challenges to build and then photograph on the photoboard (the photoboard allows the iPhone/iPod to recreate the model in digital form), there are multiplayer modes or you can build and photograph whatever you want. This set is availablenow in LEGO stores and online.

LEGO OCTOPUS UPDATE!

Remember the secretive and mysterious LEGO Octopus project we first heard about almost a year ago? Just as you could expect, Octopus was only a codename, and the actual project is called REBRICK, as you can see on the now updated website. You can´t do more than you could on the old website as it is still in closed beta, but this update and change of name and looks should clearly indicate that the project is alive, and that we may hear more about it very soon.

Mac users, you can now download the LEGO Mindstorms software for your NXT 2.0 directly from the internet. It appears that LEGO made this download available because Mac users were having a problem installing the program from the included CD.

Big Change Coming to LEGO Universe!

In the next few weeks a major change will be added to LEGO Universe - Minifigure levels! As you complete Missions and Achievements, your minifigure will increase in level – earning new rewards and abilities. This leveling system will provide minifigures with a smoother game play experience and offers even more minifigure customization!

Leveling in LEGO Universe is a breeze! You won't need to spend hours upon hours grinding enemies for experience points. All you need to do is earn U-Score points by completing Missions and Achievements! After the new system goes into place, even Daily Missions will count!

Want some examples? To reach level 2, you must earn 35 U-Score. Level 5, will require 390 U-Score, and so on. These numbers are subject to change based on internal testing. Familiarize yourself with your Passport to quickly find and identify Achievements you can complete to level up!

With leveling also comes leveling rewards! At certain milestone levels (like 5, 10, and 15), your minifigure will earn cool prizes, including up to 40 more backpack slots, a rocking owl companion who is happy to perch on your shoulder, a permanent speed boost to your minifigure, and exciting new equipment!

As part of the new leveling system, another big change is coming. All in-game items will have a level requirement. This means that in order to use or buy this item, you must be the specified level first. For example, the Visored Racing Helmet has a level requirement of 20, the Crux Planet Shield has a level requirement of 25, and the Spike Hammer has a level requirement of 30. As you level up, your minifigure will be able to unlock more items, allowing you to customize your minifigure to be exactly how you want it to be!

Concerned about how this change will affect your minifigures? Worry not! All existing minifigures will automatically have their level calculated by their existing U-Score. The U-Scores of existing Achievements and Missions are having their U-Score balanced for this new system – your minifigures will receive credit for every Achievement and Mission they have completed in the past . After the new system goes into place, we will recalculate your existing U-Score and transition you smoothly into the new system.

Any items that have already been linked to your minifigure will not be restricted to the level requirements. This means that if your U-Score places you at level 19, but you already have a linked Spike Hammer from your past level-free life, you can still use your existing linked Spike Hammer with no worries! Remember, you must have the item linked, not just in your backpack or vault – but linked!

Stand by for more breaking news to come! In the meantime, crack open that Passport and start hunting U-Score points like there’s no tomorrow!

Wooton's take: While I think this is mainly a good idea, I believe it would have been better to implement it all the way at the beginning. The article points out that there will be more minifigure customization available to higher level players although it goes into no detail as to what that may be. Judging only from the article it appears as though customization will be harder for lower ranked players due to the fact that many items will be restricted. The idea of using achievement scores rather than the typical MMO standard of XP (Experience) seems to be aimed more at allowing existing players to keep their stuff than to let players become more powerful (The levels seem to provide no statistic or damage bonuses). To sum up: I think it's a good idea, it would be better if it had been in place at the start and used XP instead of achievement scores.

Farm Defense

LEGO Kingdoms has a game up since 2 weeks which is called Farm Defense. You need to defend the farm, collect money to buy new units and so on! The start is very difficult, but after that it goes easy! Good luck!

A new game was released on the LEGO City site. The Harbour game, so is it called, contain 9 minigames and some funny movies. The purpose of the game is to finish all 50 achievements. Some are easy, and some are challenging.

You can also create your own minifig, how further you complete the game, how more looks are unlocked.

Good luck in this quite good game! :)

I have finished 48 achievements, there is one left and the other is the one you achieve when you complete the game.

Lego Cars has released 2 new games for you to play! In both games you have to race through 4 or 8 tracks. You need to be at the Finish Line before the time runs out to achieve the record times. At some tracks, you need to collect 3 parts to build the next race car with and unlock the next race. See you at the Finish Line!

HERO FACTORY FULL WEBSITE UPDATE!

And sooner than usually, the full HF website update has arrived. There is not as much to it as in the past years since the site design is basically the same except for a new video playlist on the front page. There you can watch two awesome animated summer set commercials and a new Ordeal of Fire recap summing up the OoF story for those who could not watch it (you have to scroll to find it). The recap also announces a new DVD arriving in Fall, supposedly containing the OoF and Savage Planet episodes. For some reason, there are no new downloads, but the story section updates make up for that. You can see four pictures of the Savage Planet episodes there (which look very nice), and finally we know more about Witch Doctor and Rocka. There are also bios for the new characters and for Witch Doctor´s staff. Finally, the Creep Crusher 3.0 games, called Jungle Crushers, have been released. Overall, an update worthy of being checked out!

Free-to-Play Version of LEGO Universe Coming Soon!

Coming this August a free-to-play version of LEGO Universe will be available for download from LEGOuniverse.com! This new, Free-to-Play version of the game will make the game more accessible to new players. Free players will be able to create a character, explore two zones, and build on their own property –giving them a taste of the LEGO Universe experience.
New players will start in the Venture Explorer and travel to Avant Gardens, learning essential skills which will help them throughout the game. New players will also have access to their own private property to build on, and will be able to explore all of the other Avant Garden player properties. There is no time limit on the free trial; free players will be able experience LEGO Universe at their own pace.

To experience the rest of LEGO Universe by exploring all of the adventure zones (such as Crux Prime) and experience new expansions (like the major Ninjago content coming later this year), free players must become full members. Full membership will also provide additional benefits such as the ability to trade, chat and participate in exclusive weekly contests.

Current players will have move opportunities to show off their amazing Avant Gardens properties, cool advanced gear, and expect battling skills. We hope that the addition of Free-to-Play will give current players more chances to adventure with new friends than ever before!

HF.LEGO.com updates!

The HF website HF.LEGO.com has been updated with the new sets! At least as far as the Products section is concerned, where you can watch gorgeous character animations and read the set descriptions. I am sure we can expect the entire site to be updated with HF 3.0 in early July at the latest. Until then, you can try the new and late Ordeal of Fire game. You can play with the Heroes you have created with Hero Recon Team or create a new Hero with the HRT interface. This is coming pretty late, especially considering that summer sets are already becoming available, but still better late than never. Check it out and stay tuned for the entire site update!

LEGO is down?
I attempted to view a few different LEGO pages today (lego.com addresses), and they all resulted in me getting sent to the same page. The page said something on the lines of, "In order to provide LEGO visitors with a better experience, this page will be down for a few hours". Then it had links to a few games you can play while you were waiting (nothing special, just the usual games). A new update perhaps? The websites are back up now, but I am yet to find a difference.

LEGO Alien Conquest website fully released!

The Alien Conquest website has been fully released! In addition to all previously available stuff, there is also a movie section with the promise of more clips to come, a new game and character bios have appeared. In August, a new game is going to be released, so make sure to stay tuned! In the meantime, you have got plenty of things to do on the new site anyway.

LEGO® Universe Opens Nexus Tower, Tons of New Content Coming Soon
Meet Faction Leaders for new missions, achievements, pets, weapons, vaults and more

May 23, 2011 –The LEGO® Universe community has answered the call, recently completing construction on Nexus Tower, the biggest in-game structure ever built! As Nexus Tower opens its doors soon, tons of new content is being released for all players to explore and enjoy. This will include new characters, weapons, Faction-specific pets, and over 50 new missions, as well as access to the new LEGO Universe Vault system for safe-keeping extra models and gear.

Thanks to the multitudes of minifigures who donated bricks to the recent community mission, Nexus Tower is now complete! Standing tall as the largest structure in LEGO Universe, Nexus Tower serves to protect Imagination from the chaotic Maelstrom, and is the new headquarters for the four Factions of the Nexus Force coalition.

Nexus Tower will be the main social center of the Universe, with existing and future content accessible from portals within the hub. You can blast off from Nexus Tower’s Launchpad to game worlds far and wide - Nimbus Station, Crux Prime, LEGO Club, Starbase 3001 and beyond! Beginning soon, players can fly to Nexus Tower from the Race Place launch pad in Nimbus Station.

As the Faction Leaders set up shop in Nexus Tower, players will finally be able to meet their fearless leaders for the first time, performing missions, receiving rewards and learning more about the LEGO Universe history from its founders: Duke Exeter, the mighty warrior of the honorable Sentinels; Dr. Overbuild, the master builder of the Assembly Faction; Hael Storm, a born explorer known for his wise-cracking antics in the Venture League; and Vanda Darkflame, who’ll win her battles by any means necessary for the Paradox, the most mysterious Faction of all.

Over 50 new missions and achievements will be added with the Nexus Tower update, rewarding players not only with bricks and gear, but also with new background details on the four Faction Leaders, clues about upcoming storyline twists, and host of crazy new characters and vendors, some of which fans will recognize from the collectible LEGO minifigures product line. Players can also visit their Faction Vendor to check out the new Valiant Weapons - so powerful that they’ll need both hands to wield them!

By popular demand, a massive Vault in Nexus Tower has been constructed - the perfect place to store all of those items, treasures, models and goodies that players don’t want to lug around in their Backpack! Rumor has it that players may also be able to remotely access Vaults with a special Property Safe, but they’ll need to find one first…

Here’s a peek at other new content, gameplay updates and improved functionality that players can look forward to:

o New Daily Missions - Embark on 20+ new Daily Missions available from the Faction Reps!

o New Rockets - Blast off in a new ride inspired by Nexus Tower, the Nexus Talon Dropship or the famous Venture Koi!

o Faction pets - Players can complete furry new quests to obtain their special Faction pet.

o Commendation Vendor - Have you sold or deleted some of your Mission and Achievement Rewards, but now you’d like them back? No problem, just visit Admiral Honor Accolade in the Sentinel vendor area in Nexus Tower. He has lost and forgotten treasures in stock now!

o New Items Galore - Other vendors throughout Nexus Tower sell amazing new items and gear. Use the Foreman’s Radio to drop a piano on your enemies, or the Man Eating Plant to gobble them up! And when you really want to pound on the Maelstrom, we’ve got two words for you: Mole Whacker!

o New Reward Models - Build on your Property with the new Construction Set, Office Set and an even larger selection from the Micro City Set!

o Upgraded Launch Pads! Launch pads have been reconfigured to select the first rocket in players’ Backpacks.

o Multi-Missions! Some mission givers will now offer more than one mission at once. Accept as many or as few as you like!

Many updates about the upcoming and long-awaited Nexus Tower have been released in the past days. Not only seems the building progress to be very advanced, but we have also got details about faction missions and faction pets! It looks like every player will get the chance to tame a pet of their particular faction. On the bottom of mentioned article there is also the official trailer for the awesome-looking Nexus Tower!

But that is still not all. When do you think Nexus Tower will get released? 7th June? An accidental article tells us following release date:

LEGO Universe Nexus Tower updates

Many new details about the upcoming Nexus Tower patch have been released in the past few days. We have an introduction to the new, long-awaited vault system which will enable you to store items outside your backpack.

Next there are details, stats and pictures of the awesome new Valiant Weapons. Now if anybody would care to explain to me why the Venture Buccaneer weapon, being the strongest in the entire game, is much more powerful than the Venture Daredevil one, I shall be pleased. :P It seems the third faction specialities won´t be part of this update (otherwise there would be Valiant Weapons for those as well), but this update still looks like the one to look the most forward to to date.

During the last days, blogger was down. At least the part where we write our posts. So, we were unable to let you know what happened. We are sorry that this happened.

First of all, LEGO Universe has a new news article.

Hello Minifigures,

You may call me Nexus Naomi. I am the Nexus Tower Artificial Intelligence created by Dr. Overbuild. My purpose is to serve as a guide to all Minifigures who have come to Nexus Tower.

Each of the Faction Headquarters is located inside Nexus Tower. There, you will be able to meet the Faction Leaders for the very first time. Duke Exeter, Hael Storm, Vanda Darkflame and Dr. Overbuild cannot wait to meet all of their loyal Faction members. Each has many Missions for you to complete, including some unique, top-secret Faction-only Missions for the most loyal members of the Nexus Force!

Nexus Tower is also a important destination for all of your shopping needs. More than a dozen new vendors are waiting to sell you exciting new gear and consumables! You will also find additional Faction vendors in the Tower – they sell the Rank 3 kits which were previously sold in Nimbus Station, but they will also have new items like Valiant Weapons! Valiant Weapons are the most powerful weapons created so far, but you’ll need both hands – and a lot of Tokens – to wield them! In addition, a completely new Vendor, Admiral Honor Accolade, is setting up his shop in the Sentinel area. He specializes in Mission and Achievement reward items that you have previously earned.

Are you concerned with where you will put all of these new items? I have just been authorized to disclose the new Vault system that is being finalized! Each Minifigure will be able to open a Vault account where you can safely store your extra items, and you will be able to pull them out whenever you wish. The Faction Leaders may also help you to construct a Property Safe, which will allow you to securely access your Vault from any of your claimed Properties.

The last piece of information which I have received clearance to disclose is that Dr. Overbuild has even more plans to expand Nexus Tower. Once the Tower is completed, you will be able to use it as a launching point to Nimbus Station, Crux Prime, Starbase 3001 and LEGO Club, but new destinations will be added soon!

As Adventurers and Explorers, you understand that the Universe is vast and there are always uncharted territories. Nexus Tower is being built to become the launching point for all future exploration and expansions. Be prepared for the adventure of your life.

Duke Exeter thought it would be a good idea for me to chronicle the completion of Nexus Tower. So for future builders, here we go!

First, you may wonder, why build a massive tower on Crux Prime- a planet which is swarming with the Maelstrom? Well, the Imagination Nexus of course! It's the original, pure source of Imagination in the Universe and it must be protected!

Construction on Nexus Tower was going well, but we started to run short of bricks. Hael Storm proposed a vast collection of bricks from Minifigures across the Universe, and Duke Exeter has agreed to lead the effort! We've put out a call to all Minifigures to donate bricks and help finish Nexus Tower There is even a competition to see who can donate the most bricks!

I'm a little worried about the Bank we were building in Nexus Tower. I am just not sure it is safe enough! What if Nexus Tower were under attack? We must protect everyone’s gear and deposits!!. Duke Exeter had the great idea to make the Bank into a Vault instead. What is the difference between a Bank and a Vault? Why, rocket engines, of course!

Bricks have been arriving daily on the cargo ships out of Nimbus Station, and now progress on the Tower is moving at an accelerated rate! After a week of donations, redontop, Ninewells and huss1 have donated over 2,234,000 bricks combined!

Now you don’t have to be a Rank 3 Engineer to have your very own Personal Fortress! You can build your very own -regardless of your Faction or rank. You can build this amazing turret either on your Property or in your own home and even use LEGO Digital Designer if you prefer.

This version looks just like the ones summoned by Engineers, however it has a few extra pieces for stability to help protect against Maelstrom attack!

NXTLOG Sensor Overload Challenge

For those of us who are interested in the NXT, the Mindstorms website just launched another challenge. This contest challenges NXTLoggers to make the best use of sensors in their creations. There are six awards they are giving in this contest- one for each sensor, and one for "sensoroverload (the best use of multiple sensors)".

"MINDSTORMS NXT Robots are designed to sense their environment and react in ways that you invent. We are challenging you to create the NXT great robot that makes use of as many sensors as you can imagine. We’re calling this contest “Sensor Overload” for you to not necessarily overload your robot with too much stimuli, but rather show off how your robot can behave well when given lots of input to react to! Your robot can make use of one sensor or many. We opened up the award categories to include individual awards in all sensor areas, and one award to include the use of many sensors! Make sure to clearly document in your NXTLOG what sensor(s) your MINDSTORMS NXT robot utilizes and how your robot is designed to behave based on the input given to each sensor. There's no limit on amount of LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT sensors, LEGO MINDSTORMS RCX sensors, motors, NXT programmable bricks, HiTechnic sensors, Codatex RFID sensors, or Bluetooth communication you can use. All entries must be tagged "sensoroverload." Entries must be submitted by June 30, 2011. What will you make?"

- Donate More Bricks! Every day will have a new challenge to donate more bricks in the Nexus Jawbox for the construction of Nexus Tower.
- Plus many additional very challenging missions, given to you daily by your Faction Representative.
Specialty Gear
- An achievement has been added for equipping all pieces of rank 1 gear. The reward for this achievement is the rank 2 book. You will be unable to purchase the rank 2 gear until you complete the rank 1 achievement. Any players who have currently used the rank 2 book will continue to be able to use and buy new rank 2 gear.
- An achievement has been added for equipping all pieces of rank 2 gear. The reward for this achievement is the rank 3 book. You will be unable to purchase the rank 3 gear until you complete the rank 2 achievement. Any players who have currently used the rank 3 book will continue to be able to use and buy new rank 3 gear.

Known Issues
- Icons for custom cars, rockets and models may not appear for some players. This issue will be fixed in an upcoming maintenance.

The Details!
If you play on the Overbuild server (US), you must donate the most bricks to the Nexus Jawbox in Nimbus Station between 12:01 AM EST Tuesday, May 3 and until the construction of Nexus Tower is finished, no later than 11:59 PM EST Wednesday, June 15.

If you play on the Storm server (UK), you must donate the most bricks to the Nexus Jawbox in Nimbus Station between 00:01 GMT Tuesday, May 3 and until the construction of Nexus Tower is finished, no later than 23:59 GMT Wednesday, June 15.

If you play on the Exeter server (Germany), you must donate the most bricks to the Nexus Jawbox in Nimbus Station between 00:01 CET Tuesday, May 3 and until the construction of Nexus Tower is finished, no later than 23:59 CET Wednesday, June 15.

The in-game leader boards will not reflect the 20 winners, as we are collecting the 20 players who have donated the most bricks across all 3 servers. The leader boards will show the top players on that server, and we will post regular updates to the LEGO Universe News Network with information on who is leading over all.

We will determine the top 20 winners, across all 3 servers, based on how many bricks you have donated– the more you give the better!

The top 20 winners will get their LEGO bricks and LEGO Universe Game in the regular mail whereas the rest of the prizes will be distributed via in-game email.

To finish the Tower, the heroic Nexus Force needs help. Well, actually, they need more bricks! An urgent donation drive begins next week, and players will have one month to complete the task. Only a truly collaborative effort will make Nexus Tower a reality, to serve as a beacon of light and hope to minifigures across the LEGO Universe! The cause is nobler than ever, and the Nexus Force is calling on players to contribute bricks as soon as possible, before the Maelstrom snuffs out Imagination forever.

Throughout the month-long challenge, stop by Nimbus Station Race Place to drop off bricks at the Nexus Force donation machine. Generous donors will earn achievements and rare one-time-only rewards.

Hot new racetrack, cool new cars

Beginning next week, players can outrace the Maelstrom itself, on a fiery new racetrack – the most challenging yet in LEGO Universe! Players will venture deep within the dangerous, dragon-filled depths of Forbidden Valley to find the Dragonmaw Chasm racetrack, complete with a slew of new missions and some super-hot rewards. Skilled survivors can unlock new achievements, along with racecars like the Fire Brawl and Mach Lava.

Eight exclusive vehicles, coming to LEGO Universe next week, will give players a speedy new way to flaunt their Faction pride and get in the racing spirit this month! Designed in true Nexus Force fashion, the sleek new cars and rockets are representative of the four Factions found in LEGO Universe, including the powerful Sentinels, daring Venture League, creative Assembly and mysterious Paradox.

Property worlds: bigger, better, fuzzier

Two highly-anticipated Property updates are also major news this month, giving players more space to build and new ways to bring their creations – and pets - to life in LEGO Universe. A huge new Property world was just discovered in Nimbus Station, and will be accessible when Nimbus Isle debuts next week. For players who’s Block Yards are bursting at the brim, Nimbus Isle will offer well-welcomed, bigger building room, complete with remarkable LEGO ocean views.

And it gets better! Beginning next week, players will be able to place pets on their in-game Properties and bring them alive with behaviors. There’s no telling what amazing animal masterpieces the LEGO Universe will dream up, and players can draw even more inspiration from new Zoo and Safari-themed model sets, available next week from the model vendor in Nimbus Station.

Interview With Hans Burkhard Schlömer

Hans Burkhard Schlömer (aka Burkhard) is living a childhood dream. He builds with LEGO for a living and sees his creations come to life in LEGO Universe! Read more to find out how he began building with LEGO, how he joined the LEGO family, and tips for aspiring builders!

Q: Tell us a little bit about yourself. What is your background?
A: I was working as a music teacher for 8 years and played the Trombone semi-professionally. No, it wasn’t hard for me to leave music, because I can keep making music even if I’m not working as a teacher anymore.

Q: What was the first LEGO set you owned?
A: I don’t remember my first, but my parents let me watch the first moon landing on TV when I was a baby (or so they told me). Later my grandparents bought me this huge, BLUE Moon Landing set! While it wasn’t my first set, it was the biggest so far.

Q: Were you always a skilled builder? When did you start free building?
A: Around 1998 I rediscovered my love for building with LEGO. I got my first PC and internet and found many LEGO fan sites, one in particular had mechs. The web owner built about a dozen models based on a table top game with miniatures. One day he just stopped – that’s when I started building my own. Digitally, so I could create building instructions and render pictures. Until then, I hadn’t done much creative building, and my first build since childhood was – surprise - a mech!

Eventually I also created my own website, to display and share my LEGO creations. Going by the artist name of “Primus”, I managed to make quite a name for myself in the fan community as a builder.

Q: What is it about LEGO that you love?
A: The challenge of building something to certain specifications. There always are limitations to overcome – not the right bricks, colors, shapes, or certain “price tags” to meet. You get to be really creative when building with LEGO. I feel a bit like a sculptor, but I just choose to create things with LEGO instead of, say, clay. It’s much more fun. And less dirty!

Q: Some people think if you turn your hobby into a job, it doesn’t become fun anymore. Do you still have fun?
A: I’m not building that much anymore when at home, true - but that’s because I get all my building needs met at work. The only difference is: now I’m even getting paid for having fun!

Q: How did you go from being a music teacher to a professional LEGO builder for LEGO Universe?
A: For many years I was building models for my website as a hobby, training myself to be a professional LEGO builder – without knowing it! Really, I had no idea this would ever turn into an actual job. I joined the LUP program for LEGO Universe and even became team lead of the best team ever: the BETA BLOCKERS! When the time was right, I simply asked LEGO to be hired. Now I’ve been a model designer for LEGO Universe for just over 3 years.

Q: What exactly do you do as a professional LEGO builder?
A: I create digital models for the game based on artwork, short descriptions, or my own imagination. Sometimes an idea that looks good in a drawing doesn’t work in brick at that scale. Then it’s my job to find a solution that is close to the concept art and works in LEGO.

Q: What is the biggest challenge you face in creating models for LEGO Universe?
A: If all I get to work with is a line of text for a description, things can get tough. “A small turret to protect the player” – would you have thought this would eventually turn into the Personal Fortress for Assembly Engineers? I made a few different concepts, and our art director Phil Atencio chose the one that fit his vision the best. Then I gave the model two more passes until everybody was happy. A tough process, but so worth it!

Q: I understand you built the Mach Lava and Fire Brawl, the two new Dragonmaw Chasm themed Race Cars! Which one is your favorite?
A: The Mach Lava because it’s really got character. From a front angle, the spiky pieces look like eyes and teeth! Chomp!

Q: Do you build with LEGO Digital Designer (LDD) or with real bricks?
A: I prefer to build digitally – it saves SO much time. But while many models in LEGO Universe only exist in digital format, it’s also nice to have real LEGO models that you can put on the table and show around. Physical building for me is the second step after building digitally.

Q: Do you have any advice for the aspiring builders out there?
A: Keep your brick collection sorted and organized! Small parts magazines with drawers come in very handy here. Of course, searching for the right bricks is part of building with LEGO, but you want to spend most of your time actually building, not looking for stuff. Oh, also check out LEGO Digital Designer! LDD is free, and easy to use. It has a lot of useful features but is not complicated at all. You get all the bricks you ever wanted in any color. The bricks even automatically snap together!

Q: Can you show us what you’re working on now? :)
A: Now THAT's the hardest part of this job: sometimes I just cannot tell or show what I'm working on! You have to wait until it is in the game. See you in LEGO Universe!

The april contest calender was edited today in all the silence. The mystery racetrack grand prix has been delayed for one week! That means that the FV track is coming later then we were told earlier!

April 30 - When the Nexus Tower is done! Jawbox Brick Donation
The Nexus Jawbox wants your brick donations! Partake in the biggest and boldest Minifigure mission yet – the Brick Donation for the construction of the Nexus Tower! This Community Mission will kick off with the Build Nexus Tower release (but start collecting bricks already on April 30th!) and only end when Nexus Tower is complete! Check back on April 30 for more information.

May 7 – May 8 Mystery Racetrack Grand Prix

In this How to Build session, you will learn how to build the very cool, very silly, and very customizable Nexus Jawbox before it premiers with the Build Nexus Tower update! Remember this post? Were you upset that this awesome Ninjago truck wasn't coming to your town, state or country? I was. Until I found out that my local toy store was holding their very own Ninjago Spinjitzu championships! Me and my brother (Jellybean16) went down and battled it out with a bunch of other kids, and JB won the championship! They were giving away a bunch of cool LEGO prizes. Dodge Maelstrom-infected crates and blast over the fiery furnace and on through the Skeleton cave at the Keelhaul Canyon Racetrack in Gnarled Forest on April 16-17! LEGO Creator vehicles are up for grabs – the 20 fastest racers in LEGO Universe will be rewarded! The awesome LEGO Creator Offroader might come in handy, when you recreate your victory lap at home?

As an extra treat, the top 3 Minifigure racers will be awarded with a sparkling new Faction race car in-game, when they are released. Play as many times as you like - each completed race of 3 laps will automatically enter you into the contest!

HERO FACTORY character videos and HERO RECON TEAM video

On HF.LEGO.com eight new character videos starring each 2.0 Hero, Fire Lord and his minions have been released. They all feature several scenes from the recently aired Ordeal of Fire episode of the HF TV series. Interestingly enough, though, Furno´s video shows a small clip of what could be from an upcoming episode or a promo video, possibly for the summer story Savage Planet.

There is also the video for the not yet released fourth challenge of the HeroPad, starring good old Prof. Nathaniel Zib and, for the first time, Merrick Fortis in action, advertising the new HERO Recon Team website on HERORecon.LEGO.com. Check it out!

Today, I was going to build in Lego Digital Designer, when it wanted to update. I updated it, and found out that it had Lego Universe mode in it. But this LU mode wasn't secret. Lego has made LU mode PUBLIC! I went file diving, and I found a picture that said LEGO DIGITAL DESIGNER EXTENDED. Then, I entered this line into a file (prefrences.ini): ThemeAccess=LDDExtended. There is a new secret mode in LDD 4.1.6! Here are some pictures of it:

Dragonmaw Chasm Racetrack is the newest destination for high-speed racing action in LEGO Universe – and by far the most challenging! Only those who have truly mastered the Vertigo Loop & Keelhaul Canyon Racetracks stand a chance at this exciting thrill ride!

Take a bouncer from Mantis Rock in Forbidden Valley to reach the new Forbidden Valley Race Place. There, you’ll meet Racing Ninja Zip Lash, who has a series of challenging missions for you to complete – but only if you’ve finished most of Velocity Lane’s racing missions first!

The race track starts off on a rickety wooden track atop the windy peaks of Forbidden Valley –then plummets all the way down to the canyon floor! Are those… glowing eggs? Why yes. Dragon Eggs, to be precise. The Dragonmaw Chasm Racetrack takes you through a Dragon Egg nursery, guarded by a protective mother Maelstrom Dragon. Survive the mother Maelstrom Dragon’s wrath and falling stone pillars to an underground view of the Paradox Maelstrom Refinery! Be on the lookout for giant jets of Maelstrom gas – it’s well known that Maelstrom gas chews through the paintjob on a shiny race car!

Make your way through the darkness and race into the light! The end of racetrack circles you back to The Great Tree –but letting your guard down now would be disastrous. You’ll have to make some tight turns quickly to keep your car on the narrow track with top speed! After the twists and turns, we see a glimpse ahead. The finish line!

Bob. Dear old Bob. Everyone’s favorite helpful Minifigure. The brave soul who helps all Minifigures unlock their Imagination and escape from the Venture Explorer. The helpful, smiling soul who even covers his eyes when you type your password! Bob is a shining example of a good-hearted citizen who never breaks any rules.

Or is he?! Special recon has just uncovered some startling news. Bob, full name Bobert, harbors dark, mysterious secrets…

To get the full picture, we must go back in time. Baby Bobert grew up next door to the young Sky Lane. As young children, they were the best of friends, despite the well known fact that boys have cooties. Over time, Bob grew to have feelings for Sky Lane, but he was always too shy to confess his feelings. As they grew older, Sky Lane trained with the Nexus Air Force to become a Captain and eventually became Captain of the Venture Explorer Starship! Bob knew what a dangerous job that was, so he signed up for service on the Venture Explorer Starship to stay close to Sky Lane and keep her from harm.

Things soon fell apart. Sky Lane only had eyes for Epsilon Starcracker and Bob’s heart grew dark and bitter. Consumed by despair and darkness, Bob only had one path before him…
The Darkitect came to Bob, seducing him with promises to ease his pain and suffering. Desperate to heal his broken heart, Bob agreed to join the Darkitect’s army. Soon, Bob was his loyal follower, through and through.

In line with the Darkitect’s plan, Bob kept up the pretense of being a helpful Minifigure on the Venture Explorer. Bob always had a smile on his face to conceal the chaotic turmoil deep inside him.

Being a follower of the Darkitect had its small advantages, if you’re into that sort of thing. The Darkitect bestowed the power of immortality upon Bob. It was this power that allows Bob to pull off his arm at will, using it to flag down every passing Minifigure. But why was it so important to get every Minifigure’s attention? Bob’s mission was not to help the Minifigures, but to implant them all with a tracking device!

Yes, dear explorers. Bob is a spy for the Maelstrom. Helpful Bob has been spying on your every move and making direct reports to the Darkitect. The Maelstrom has been able to read your every move thanks to the intel reports that Bob has provided to the Darkitect.

What can the Nexus Force do against such deceit and corruption? The solution is Warthogs. Bob is deathly afraid of Warthogs –that’s why you never see him in Gnarled Forest! Adventurers: Your mission is to gather an army of Warthogs so we can take down Bob and the Darkitect, once and for all! Go out there and do your part now!

Velocity Lane here with the hottest exclusive for all the Racers out there! We all know you can race, but can you build a Race Car? Woah, woah. Slow down there, Speedy! You’ve got the vision to build a sweet Race Car, but you’ll need the right tools to bring that vision to life.

First things first, we’ll need to cover the basics. Let’s take a look at how these slick Race Cars are built! All Race Cars start off with a base frame called a Chassis. The Chassis is the internal frame of the racecar, similar to the skeleton in your body!

Learn how to build the all-important Chassis, then the sky is the limit! Build a Chassis on your Property or in your home. In fact, build several so you can have a whole line of Race Cars to show off! All unique designs by… you!

The April monthly contest will shoot us off to a flying start! Submit a picture of your finest race car to Creation Lab – whether you’ve built it in LEGO Universe, in LEGO Digital Designer or at home on your living room floor. Later this week we will post instruction on how to build a chassis for inspiration, but remember: anything goes, as long as it looks legendary! Up for grabs are LEGO MINDSTORMS NXT 2.0 Sets.

It’s all about Teamwork! - LU

So you know the mechanics of how to form a team, but do you really know the strategies to battle together? Learn the strengths and weaknesses of your teammates, explore different ways to heal your teammates, and don’t forget to have an emergency exit plan in place! Soon enough, you will find your teammates will be a strong force that can anticipate each others’ movements in battle and fight as one unit!

There are different ways to support each other. Some methods can be by healing Life, Armor or restoring Imagination for your teammates. There are certain Faction skills that specialize in this. The Sentinels’ Strengthen Armor ability increases the maximum Armor for nearby team members and also repairs the amount of Armor given. Combo Strengthen Armor with the Assembly weapon charge-up to repair teammates’ Armor at no cost. It’s a one-two punch to ensure that not only will your team have the most Armor possible, but the Armor is constantly being replenished to stay shiny and buff!

Does your team constantly run low on Imagination in the middle of a battle? Try adding a Paradox Faction member into the mix. The Paradox weapon charge-up will restore nearby teammates’ Imagination, costing the caster 1 point of Life. To make sure the supporting team member also stays healthy, consider throwing down a Cauldron of Life or donating some healing consumables to your teammate!

The benefits of restoring the Life, Armor, and Imagination of your teammates speak for themselves. It is a powerful way to come together as a team, but there are other tactics that can be used as well. Have you ever found yourself in a bind, where your team is about to be overrun with too many bad guys? Sounds like someone needs a Funky Monkey, quick! The Venture League can bust out a Funky Monkey to get the attention of most monsters nearby, giving the team a chance for a quick escape. The Daredevil’s Fire Extinguisher is also great to slow down monsters as you escape, so you can safely group up, heal each other up and prepare for the battle field once more.

Remember that there are many different styles of battle and teamwork. This is just the tip of the iceberg, with many more exciting additions coming in the future! One sneak peek of things to look forward to: An ability to boost the entire team’s running speed! How cool is that? Want more? What about the ability to move a group of enemies to a specific spot and hold them there for a period of time? Imagine the possibilities!

How to Build the Starskull Rocket!

All the bricks you need!

Many of you have already collected the Skeleton Rockets to fly around in. My old eyes had never seen bones used as building material before! It is interesting indeed, that something so primitive could be used to create something so advanced. Did you know the skeleton rockets are built from the bones of Skeleton Miners? How dreadful! Still, the construction is quite clever. I was contemplating riding one (for testing purposes only, of course), but the purple would clash terribly with my orange robes. That just will not do.

Then it hit me. I could build a Starskull Rocket for my very own, in a dashing orange! I began my research to reverse engineer the rocket immediately. Since you adventurers have been tirelessly collecting bones from Crux Prime for me, I have decided to share my findings on how to recreate the Starskull Rocket with you. Below, you will find all the parts necessary to build your own Starskull Rocket, either on your Property or with any bricks you may have collected in your own home. If you are like me, you can make your own color adjustments to customize the rocket or you can stay true to the color scheme to build a completely accurate replica. Ninjago ScrollsThe Ninjago Scrolls in Crux Prime will now reappear faster after they have been snatched up by another Minifigure. This means the Scrolls should be a bit easier to find, because you can no longer accidentally pass one, which has just been picked up by someone else, and hasn’t yet respawned.

Nuckal and Roo Morgg
The loot drop-rates for these two beasts have been adjusted. Now, you will have to make a greater effort to get the really cool items. Prepare for battle!

Dragon Helm KMIII
No more bald heads! The Dragon Helm (+5 Armor, +5 Imagination, it’s a good helm!) now shows up as it should.

Leaderboards
All in-game leaderboards will be wiped with this release to give us all a fresh start!

Building
We are currently seeing a building issue, where Property Models sometimes disappear. A temporary workaround, until we get this completely fixed, is to make sure you leave Building Mode if you intend on leaving your computer for a longer period of time. If you are idle for more than 15 minutes, you will be sent back to the login page, and your Models might not have been saved. So make sure to leave Building Mode if you are leaving your computer!

LEGO Battles Ninjago is coming next month for Nintendo DS. In this post you can learn what the game is about, see some awesome screenshots, and you can learn how you can get the secret content!

About the game:
Long before time had a name, Ninjago was created by the first Spinjitzu master by using the 4 golden weapons of Spinjitzu; the Scythe of Quakes, the Nunchucks of Lightning, the Shurikans of Ice and the Sword of Fire – weapons so powerful, no one can handle all of their power at once.

When the Spinjitzu master passed away, his two sons, Sensei Wu and Lord Garmadon, swore to protect the golden weapons but Lord Garmadon was consumed with darkness and wanted to possess them. A fierce battle broke out and at last, Lord Garmadon was struck down and banished to the underworld. Peace returned but knowing Lord Garmadon’s hunger for power, the weapons were hidden in secret places.

The fate of Ninjago now lies in your hands and you must choose which brother you want to help.

Build your own army of heroes, battle the enemies and become a Master of Spinjitzu as you recover powerful ninja weapons and restore the balance between good and evil! Build a Bunny contest!

In order to enter the Build a Bunny contest you have to create a Bunny and mail a screenshot of the model to us before the 17th of April 2011.

Rules of the contest:
- Use a maximum of 100 bricks
- Your model has to have some resemblance to a Bunny
- We select 12 finalist, your votes decide who takes the trophy

From the 21st to 25th of April the fans will vote on the finalists.

The lucky winner will be announced on the 25th of April on Design byME’s website.

Video 3: See how a new special LEGO® element is created.

Video 3 has been added to the LEGO cars site. Be sure to check it out as well if you are interested in this storyline. ;) In the meantime, some questions were answered. They are posted below. I'm laughing at the answer for the third question...

When will the products be out?
It depends on where you live but the first products will be ready for May 2011
Who is your favorite Cars character ?
That is a difficult question because I like them all! The racers are super cool, and Guido is so cute, but my absolute favorite would be Mater!
When can I see the next video?

It is LEGO! And we’ll make sure that each car consist of at least 30 bricks (depending on the size of course).
How many designers are there?
There is actually a whole team of designers working on the LEGO Cars products. We are 7 if you include our graphic designer and element designers.
Will one of the sets be Flo's V8 Cafe ?
I can’t give anything away, but that would definitely be a cool set!
How do you build Mater?
First we build lots of different “sketch-models” and then we look and decide which LEGO Mater looks most like the real one. Of course it also has to be possible to build and play with. If you follow the next spy episode on this website, you'll be sure to learn more about how we build our LEGO Cars products.
Are Mater`s tall tales true ?
I have no idea… What do you think? They are surely fun to watch! :-)

There is lots of different ways to get this job, but first of all you have to love to build with LEGO!

Have you ever visited legospace.com. The site has been up since NASA signed the contract with LEGO. The website does only contain some videos where you can see the lauch of some space shuttles, a game, and some cool space downloads!

The home page does contain the most information. It shows you when the next lift off is, but it also shows how the last lift off was. Be sure to watch the video, it is pretty interesting to see how everything works and while you are watching, then be sure to say hi to the flying astronaut.

The game is pretty fun. You NEED to create a rocket and if you get higher then X meters, then you win new parts for your rocket! Talk to Stan Flash and Ray to get more informations!

There are tons of hidden goodies in the enemies’ backpacks, so keep smashing, maybe you’ll get lucky!

Is defeating the Maelstrom not good enough for you? Do you need to battle with spark and pizzazz? Check out the Spark Thrower!

Chock-full of damage and sparks, the Spark Thrower will deal damage every second until you run out of Imagination! Throw down a fountain of Imagination, pull out the Spark Thrower and watch the sparks fly! You can find the Spark Thrower as a random drop from enemies in Crux Prime. It’s a rarity level of 3, so you may have to hunt for a while to find one, but it’s well worth the hunt!

Do you dream of being simply impressive? The Savage Club may just be the weapon for you!

This bad boy has some serious power –not to mention it looks fierce! A 3+4+4 weapon that is so huge and powerful it requires both hands to wield! Where can you get one of these for your very own? The Savage Club is an achievement reward for “The Curse of Whack Bliddo – Tier 2” Achievement! Time twist back to the Battle of Nimbus Station to get started on this Passport mission!

Backpack Buckets

Has this ever happened to you? You go to your pack looking for your special Thrust Bucket race car, and you cant find it! Your friends are waiting to start a race and you're frantically looking through your pack. Well, the answer is Buckets! Read this article from the LEGO Universe site to find out how.

By following these few easy steps, you can create separate Buckets for the Models you like the most, the ones you often need to have handy, or for your favorite Pets.

Here’s how:
1. Open your Backpack.
2. Go to your Models tab; the one with the image of three 2x2 bricks.
3. Click the “+” in the left hand corner of your Backpack.
4. Click the tiny “+ Add New” at the bottom of this screen, and you’ll get to name your new group of Models.
5. Drag the Models you need from your Backpack into your newly created Bucket.
6. And voilà, you’ve created a new Bucket for your Models!

All Models will still show up in your Models Backpack tab, but by creating Buckets it will be easier to find specific Models when you need them. Make Buckets for the Model Sets you are collecting, your rockets, cars, trees, or Mushroom Models! Also, be aware that you can do the same for Bricks! The procedure is exactly the same, so sort your Bricks to get a better overview of your Plates, Tiles and Beams.
Note that Buckets are somewhat intelligent (who would have known…) and actually recognize what kind of Models you are trying to collect in a Bucket. For instance, you only have to drag 2 Pets into one Bucket, before the rest of your Pets are automatically put into this Bucket as well.
Bucket up and invent a sorting system that suits your Backpack!

You might wonder how you become a Lego designer: do you need to be incredible at building with Lego, or to know all about every model ever made? Do you have to study product design or engineering in order to get a job as a Lego designer? Actually, there are many ways you can become one. All designers working here have different backgrounds, for instance there´s an archeologist, a chef, architects and car designers, but what we all have in common is the joy of building and creating new and fun models for kids all over the world. In Creator we have very different backgrounds, not only do we come from different countries, but our background for becoming a Lego designer is very different. Some of us have studied product design, like me, and thereby learned the design skills that are very useful as a Lego designer. Some of the designers in the team have never stopped playing with Lego since they got their first Lego set as a kid. They have become fantastic builders and therefore incredible Lego designers. So if you are dreaming of becoming a Lego designer, the best advice is to keep up building and have fun with it. A design degree will definitely help you, but your building skills and imagination is also important. It´s a good idea to attend Lego events and a great possibility to meet with Lego people at the events. Take pictures of your creations and keep track of what you are building. Have fun! We might meet in Billund or at a Lego event some day :)

Every Minifigure starts out with 20 empty spaces, plus Dr. Overbuild sends you an email in Avant Gardens with an additional 20, so all told, that’s 142 Backpack slots for you to store all of your swag!

Backpacks are heavy when they’re chock-a-block jam-packed, so you should think of your Backpack as a place to keep the items and gear you like the most, and not everything you pick up or earn. It’s always a good idea to consider which items you really need, and which you can do without. When we open the Bank in Nexus Tower you are going to get more space, but it’s not unlimited space, so you will still have to prioritize your possessions. And if you’ve thrown something away that you desperately want back, check out Honor Accolade’s vendor booth in Nexus Tower! He’ll be selling a lot of the items you’ve already collected by completing Achievements. Remember that you can sell the stuff you no longer need, trade it with other players or give it away. One Minifigure’s trash might be another Minifigure’s treasure! Look dapper in your new carefully selected outfits!

The teaser for the site has been online since the morning. It does only contain a page where you can watch all the minifigs that play in this storyline. Currently only one is unlocked, the rest is locked. This is the Bio for the first minifig.

Jack Sparrow is dueling to the death for the key to the Dead Man’s Chest. He’ll have to be sneakier than ever to clench control of that key and make a break for it before the other pirates have him in pieces.

You should normally be able to download stuff, but it seems to be not working yet. Your thoughts?

Team Deerbite Interview

The WBL (World Builder League) team Deerbite was recently interviewed, the interview provides some information about how they make these worlds and what is in store for the future of the WBL worlds.

The bustling metropolis Robot City is the latest addition to LEGO Universe. This new zone opened on February 23, and offers many new missions, infected robot citizens and a new Rocket for you to build! Hang out in Central Park and find the way to the top of the gigantic robot statue, still under construction. The spectacular city vistas from the top are worth more than a single visit!

We’ve asked DeerBite, the team which created this crazy robot world, a few questions regarding the World Builder League and their new World Builder League destination.

How did it come about that you joined the World Builder League?
It started quite a while ago with LEGO contacting a very few respected people in adult community. They in turn were each asked to contact a few other builders whom they respected. Our team, DeerBite, started with a Team Lead who then added people he trusted onto the team either because they were great builders or story tellers or enjoyed gaming. The mix of interests was important.
And the immediate follow-up question: How can an aspiring LEGO builder join the World Builder League?
Right now that is still controlled by LEGO. The WBL was something never tried before, so it was important for LEGO to keep it relatively small in order to learn from it. We have all learned a lot and a number of improvements are now being discussed to make the whole process both faster and easier.
What is your favorite part of being a WBL member?
Being able to bring a whole world, even a small one, from an idea and into reality, is pretty cool.
What does the WBL use to make the worlds? Do you guys have special tools?
We have three tools that we use. The first is LEGO Digital Designer (LDD). Every model you see in Robot City, from the buildings to the large status in Central Park, and all non-player characters (NPCs), such as the Robot Citizen all began life in LDD. It's at the heart of enabling us to create a world that feels like it's made out of real LEGO bricks.
The second is an internal tool LEGO provides. It enables us to actually create an environment for all the models that we created in LDD. It lets us set a map size, create mountains & valleys and “paint” terrain like grass and rocks within the environment. HF has a lot of capabilities, but it can be difficult to use all its functions. This is one area that is being looked at to make easier to use.
The third tool we use is our imagination. It fuels everything. In fact, it is where the entire process begins. Before we could start building models or laying out a map, we had to imagine Robot City first. We needed to figure out who lived in Robot City and what they were like. We also needed to figure out what the Maelstrom was up to, what the city itself would look like and many, many other things.

To get your world ready for LEGO Universe, you must create a lot of models. Which of the Robot City models do you like the best? Which model took the longest to build?
For the current map of Central Park, called the “intro zone,” we'd have to say the Robot Sculpture in the middle of the park. It took about 16 hours to design. However, there are a large number of models that did not make it into the intro zone and since DeerBite is made up of 5 members, we all have our personal favorites.

Will we see expansions to Robot City further down the line?
Definitely. We are already working on one and have a number of other ideas and models that were not able to be included for the intro zone.
Which of the characters in Robot City do you think is the funniest, and why?
The Robot Citizen. With his carefree walk, he's laid back for a robot and really fun to interact with.

Where did you get the inspiration for Robot City? Do you guys have a general weakness for robots?
We're a bunch of self-proclaimed geeks and most of us love Mindstorms & Technic, so robots aren't a big leap from LEGO for us. Regarding the inspiration, it was a number of things, really. Some of it came from the real life public LEGO displays we put on within our club and some of it simply came from the desire to create an environment completely different from everything else in the game. There really wasn't any one specific point of inspiration. Due to technical constraints, many doubted it could even be pulled off but we took it as a personal challenge.

If you ever got stuck in Robot City, where would you like to get stuck?
On top of the Robot Sculpture in the center of the park. You can see the entire city from there.

And finally, it’s fair to assume that you guys build a lot of LEGO. Any good tips for all the aspiring LU builders out there, who like to build, but maybe lack a bit of finesse?
Keep building and learn from others! That's what we do. When one of us comes up with something that makes everyone else say, “wow,” before you know it, someone else has taken that technique or style and applied it in some other way to one of their own creations. We make each other better builders.
